Norman Rockwell program coming to library

Norman Rockwell program coming to library. The art of Norman Rockwell will be featured by Beth Knaus of ArtMatters on Tuesday evening, March 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Walpole Public Library, located on 143 School Street. Part of the Art Series sponsored by the Friends of the Walpole Public Library, admission is free and all are welcome.

Norman Rockwell [1894-1978] was a prolific illustrator who captured the essence of American life. In a career spanning 54 years he produced over 4000 works, including well over 300 covers for Saturday Evening Post magazine. Among his iconic works are those in the World War II poster series “The Four Freedoms.” Rockwell lived and worked in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, for the last 25 years of his life; a museum of his work now resides in the town.

ArtMatters is an art awareness program designed to keep individuals connected to the world and encourage a loving relationship with the visual arts. ArtMatters brings “the museum” directly into each community. More details are available at www.walpolelibraryfriends.org.
