The Westwood Young Women's Club (WYWC) kicked off its Summer Concert Series with Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys. Families gathered on the grass to enjoy the music and the sunshine. The gazebo’s location is perfect for families with children as it is just steps away from the property's Tot Lot playground. Children and their parents enjoyed playing together while listening to the musical talents of Trien.
Trien and her band entertained the crowd with dancey and upbeat songs to chase away the rainy day. She encouraged everyone to dance and sing along with her which gathered a group of young kids in front of the stage. Trien provided the kids with shaker eggs and cloth ribbons to help them dance and play along to the music. The group encouraged audience participation, which brought smiles to everyone's faces and helped kids express their creativity. Trien interacted with the kids as much as possible making them feel seen and heard during the show.
The Westwood Young Women’s Club was collecting donations of diapers for Diaper Circle throughout the show. Diaper Circle is a Massachusetts based charity that collects and donates clean unused diapers to families in need. Donations will be accepted at all of the summer concerts as well as at the Needham Community Council. Any clean and unused packages of diapers are accepted as donations along with gift cards and unopened packages of baby wipes. The charity has been helping New England families since 2014.
The upcoming concert will feature Rockabye Beats on the 24th. Peasley, who is known for her energetic performances and talented vocals performed this past Monday, July 17th. All of the concerts in this series are fun for the whole family.
