Gavin Valentino, a ten-year-old fourth grader at Hanlon Elementary School in Westwood, has done well in several piano competitions across the state this past spring, and will perform in New York and Boston in the next few months thanks to his talent.

Gavin was a winner at the American Fine Arts Festival. After that, he received Second Place in both the Steinway Society Piano Competitions and the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association Bay State Contest Piano Competitions.

As a result of winning the American Fine Arts Festival and the Steinway Society Piano Competitions, he will be performing at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York in June, and at Symphony Hall in Boston in September.

Gavin competed among the best and most promising students in the country to win these coveted awards.

Gavin has been playing the piano for five years and studies with Vivian Tsang at the Merry Melody Music Academy.

"Gavin is a very talented student who put in a lot of hard work. His joy at the piano and his love of music really comes through in his performances and I'm very happy that he is getting this recognition for all his hard work,” Tsang said.
