The Westwood Early Childhood Council will be hosting a four-night series of parenting workshops over the next three months.
The workshops, called “Positive Approaches to Parenting Your Child,” will guide parents on positive parenting tactics and tricks. National speaker, author and consultant Charlie Appelstein, MSW will host the workshops and will offer his advice on parenting.
The workshops will be held on Monday nights on March 14, March 21, April 4, and April 11 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Westwood Public Library.
A host of topics will be covered during the workshops. Parents can expect to learn about strength-based parenting, and how to create positive mindsets in their children. Communication tips, strategies for enhancing self-esteem in children, and implementing structure and discipline will also be discussed. Parents will also receive a number of tips for themselves on how to manage their own emotions and responses.
Space for the workshops is limited. Register for the workshops by visiting tinyurl.com/wecccapp.
For more information about the parenting workshops, or to request childcare for the duration of the workshops, contact Janet Lucey at [email protected] or call 781-461-9548.
The workshops are funded through grants from the Foundation for Westwood Education, with additional support from the Westwood Public Library, Westwood Public Schools and the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
