With the help of the Westwood Recreation Department, Pine Hill held the school's first play production, "Annie", on April 26th in its brand new Cafetorium. Directed by Robert Brennan ’14 and choreographed by Allyson Hannon ‘18, many of the school's 4th and 5th graders performed in this adaptation of the beloved classic. Rehearsing twice a week for many months, the students were excited to show off the finished product. And they did not disappoint! The time and effort put in by all quickly became apparent. Family and friends watched in awe as these performers sang familiar tunes like "It's the Hard-Knock Life", “Easy Street”, “Maybe” and "Little Girls" with the poise and grace of professionals.
Matthew Capodilupo delighted as Daddy Warbucks, Nuala Power amazed as Agatha Hannigan, Maggie Lewendon charmed as Grace Farrell, and Kylie Wallace was a showstopper as the lead role, Annie. From the opening scene filled with Orphans to the closing scene featuring the entire cast belting out the classic, “Tomorrow”, the show was nothing short of a success. In addition, a surprise guest took the stage in the role of FDR- Principal Baumer!
This will be the first of many shows performed at the Pine Hill School and everyone is already looking forward to next year!
