Patriots fans and Westwood fans came together last Wednesday as several New England Patriots faced off against Westwood in a basketball tournament fundraiser at Westwood High School.
Several Patriots players, including Legarrette Blount, Malcom Butler, James White, Trey Flowers, DeAndre Carter, Chris Harper and Jonathan Cooper made the trip to Westwood High to participate in the basketball game, which was organized by the Westwood High School Boosters.
On the Westwood side, the team featured a number of athletes and special guests, including several Westwood High varsity basketball players, Westwood High principal Sean Bevan, and representatives from several local civic organizations and businesses.
During halftime, fans were able to get their Patriots gear signed by Patriots players, and were able to meet with their favorite players during a meet and greet.
The energy and excitement was in the air as Westwood held a strong lead throughout the game, but a late rally by the Patriots with just minutes to go in the final period carried the Patriots to a win.
Proceeds from the basketball tournament benefits the Westwood High School Boosters, a volunteer organization made up of parents and other volunteers. The Boosters helps to support Westwood High athletics, academics, clubs and other programs at the high school.
