As of July 29, residents in Dedham and Westwood are required to restrict watering their lawns to assigned days of the week. Customers in Dedham may water their lawn on Mondays and Thursdays, while customers in Westwood may water their lawns on Tuesdays and Fridays. All lawn watering should take place from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Residents with gardens can water using a hand held hose do not fall under the restrictions.
These restrictions come as a result of a particularly dry summer with insufficient rainfall, which has led to a drop of the Neponset River level. More information and updates about these restrictions can be found here.
