This WTP adaption of Charles Dickens, “A Christmas Carol” is the story of a bitter old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation into a gentler, kinder man after visitations by various ghosts. Director Hillary Drew says, “We had such a wonderful time bringing “A Christmas Carol” to life last year, and we can’t wait to do so again. This year, there are students revisiting some old friends and new students diving into this timeless piece for the first time”.

This production class began rehearsing in October, and features a talented cast limited to only those students selected for roles after an audition of 17 students between the ages of seven to 15 who bring to life this classic ghost story. Cast members of “A Christmas Carol” reside in Wellesley as well as neighboring communities including Natick, Waban, Needham, Dover, and Medfield.

“A Christmas Carol” production staff includes: Hillary Drew, Director; Megan Pillsbury, Costume Designer; Ben Rush, Set Designer; and Seif Cristobal, Lighting Designer.

Wellesley Theatre Project is an arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (Pre-K - Grade 12) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.

Registration is open for WTP’s Winter/Spring classes and productions of “Willy Wonka, Jr.” and “Spring Awakening.”
