On Saturday, November 18, over 900 music students from schools across the Eastern part of Massachusetts traveled to Milton High School to audition for the 2017-2018 Eastern District Music Ensembles. Students have been preparing for these auditions with their director’s guidance over the past several months. We commend all of the students who auditioned for their commitment to this process and for the countless hours they practiced to prepare.
The Wellesley High School Performing Arts Department is proud to announce that 32 students from Wellesley were selected for various ensembles. The students will join their colleagues for a few days of rehearsal culminating in a concert at Boston Latin High School on Saturday, January 6.
In addition to having 32 students accepted, students who receive a score in the top 50 percent of their area are eligible to audition for the MMEA All-State Ensembles. These auditions will take place at the end of January. Those students selected for the All-State Ensembles will perform at Symphony Hall on Saturday, March 3. Wellesley is fortunate to have 14 out of the 32 students accepted be recommended for the All-State Auditions.
