Wellesley Chambers Players concert in May

The Wellesley Chamber Players’ last concert of the 2017-2018 season is scheduled for Sunday, May 13, at 3 p.m., at the Dana Hall School. Celebrating Mother’s Day, the concert will feature young students from Dana Hall School who won the Wellesley Chamber Players’ Young Artists Chamber Competition in April, as well as the Wellesley Chamber Players themselves.

The winners are Iroha Okuhara (piano) and Kana Goshoo (violin) and they will perform the Beethoven’s Sonata for Piano and Violin, No. 5 in F major, Op. 26, “Spring” - Allegro.

Followed are the Wellesley Chamber Players, who will perform the Schumann Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor and Brahms Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 44.

The Wellesley Chamber Players is a group of internationally acclaimed classical musicians who live in Boston and Wellesley and who love to share their love for chamber music with Wellesley community and its neighbors. The players have performed internationally and have won numerous worldwide competitions.

This May concert will feature Danny Koo (vitamin of the group), Hudson Chung (who is from the another planet), Jing Peng (funny girl), Jonathan Dormand (funny guy with English accent) and Jayoung Kim (artistic director). Jayoung Kim is a piano faculty member at Dana Hall School of Music.

Refreshments will be served following the program, providing the opportunity to meet the performers. The suggested donation is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students, to help with the cost of the concert series.
