RBC Wealth Management's Wellesley branch is now displaying 14 pieces of art created by two Massachusetts veterans. The branch features art painted by two talented veterans, Jeffrey Kausek and Jennifer LaVita, who are both a part of the United States Veterans’ Artists Alliance (USVAA).
The United States Veterans’ Artists Alliance (USVAA) is a non-profit, multi-disciplinary arts organization. Founded in 2004 by military veterans and artists, USVAA provides opportunities for veterans in the arts by networking with veterans, artists, supportive individuals and organizations within the arts and veterans’ communities to find funding and support for individual artistic projects in theater, film, television, the visual/fine arts and a wide variety of crafts.
“At RBC Wealth Management, we work diligently to support the needs of the veteran community, active duty service members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and people with military experience,” said David Milowe, director of RBC’s Wellesley branch. “We are proud to display the beautiful works of art created by Jeff and Jen, and honor not only their commitment to their country, but to the arts.”
A native Bostonian, Jeff Kausek is a veteran and an artist. He served six years in the US Marine Corps, and completed two tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. He has also completed nearly 200 paintings.
Jeff had the privilege of showcasing two paintings in the Veteran Artist Program Exhibit, on display in the Pentagon from 2013-2014.
Jen LaVita grew up just outside of Boston, spending long winters and happy summers at her New England home. Always looking for a new challenge, she joined Army ROTC while getting a BFA from Syracuse University. Upon graduating, Jen left home to serve in the U.S. Army as an Air Defense Artillery Officer. After four years of service and adventure, even jumping out of "perfectly good airplanes", she followed her heart out west to the coast of California.
Now Jen lives in Los Angeles and has been striving as a visual artist, painter and muralist. She is a resident artist at the Grand View Fine Arts Studio in Mar Vista, a colleague of the United States Veterans' Artists Alliance, and has shown work and live painted at various venues throughout Los Angeles. Her work is very colorful, vibrant and often concentrated on nature. Jen draws inspiration from the beauty around her and her love for all animals and sea life.
