In collaboration with Wellesley Parents Supporting Art Students, the Swellesley Report and Golob Art are presenting the “Through the Looking Glass” art show on May 19 from 6-8 p.m. at 405 Linden St., Wellesley. This will be a multi-artist art show featuring works that create a surreal, dissonance-inducing, and awe-inspiring effect that focuses on the Wellesley community and its context in society. The work will be occupying an entire house that will be open to exploration.
The show aims to build local community by bringing together people who are connected to Wellesley in a variety of manners - whether through K-12 school, college, parenting, working, or living.
This art show is open to all and will include a variety of interactive art pieces that are also child-friendly. According to founder and contributing artist Alexander Golob, “Through the Looking Glass is actually going to have a number of other projects in addition to the ‘chandelier project’ component. There will be works that I created through collaboration with a handful of high school groups, and artists from the greater Boston area (and beyond) will also be participating.” The art show will also feature “illumination of light art” at dusk (8 p.m.)
Featured artists include Alexander Golob, Deb Brown, Mae Buckley, Kelsie Cabral, Edie Côté, Carol Hildebrand, Georgine Hahn, Zachary McHale, James Moses, Whitney Newton, and the Wellesley High School Diversity Club.
