According to Jennifer Siedman, Director of Development of the Wellesley Free Library, “it may have been cold outside, but things were heating up inside the Wellesley Free Library.”
The library recently ran their “A Hole Lot of Fun” event, WFL Foundation’s indoor mini-golf fundraiser, for the third successful year. An estimated 625 people were in attendance and the two-day golf-a-thon, raising $19,975. Wellesley Bank Charitable Foundation, the event’s Presenting Sponsor, headlined a list of generous local businesses and schools supporting this family-friendly event. “We are so pleased to sponsor this event again this year. There’s nothing like a warm round of mini golf inside when the temperature is below zero outside!” said Thomas J. Fontaine, President and CEO of Wellesley Bank. This year’s event even included a chance to win a football autographed by Patriot’s tight end, Rob Gronkowski (#87).
Siedman said that “A Hole Lot of Fun” continues to grow in its popularity. “This is a great event where teens and tweens can play on their own while younger kids enjoy putting with their parents - all the while supporting the WFL. We are so grateful to our many sponsors and participants for supporting the WFL in this fun and unique way.” And that’s just what families attending the event did.
“Golf’s pretty fun and you never get to eat in the library,” one fifth grader commented, “So this was pretty cool.”
