The Wellesley Chamber Players are very much excited to welcome their newest members, Tanja Roos and Brannon Cho, for an upcoming concert on Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m., in Beveridge Hall, Dana Hall School, Wellesley.
Tanja Roos is a violinist from London, the fourth generation of a musical family. She has studied in London, Singapore and Vienna, and is now studying at the New England Conservatory with Miriam Fried. She has participated in the Ravinia, Verbier, Four Seasons, IMS Prussia Cove, and Caramoor.
Cellist Brannon Cho has emerged as an outstanding musician of his generation. He is the first prize winner of the prestigious 6th International Paulo Cello Competition, and is also a prize winner of the Queen Elisabeth, Naumburg, and Cassodó Cello competitions. He has shared the stage with arts such as Christian Tetzlaff, Gido Kremer, and Joshua Bell, and appeared at Marlboro, Kronberg, Music@Menlo, Verbier and Gstaad. He is a candidates for the prestigious Artist Diploma at the New England Conservatory, where he studies with Laurence Lesser.The other players are Jayoung Kim, founder and artistic director, on the piano, and Zhanbo Zheng, violist; the two are very happy to return to Wellesley with their collaborators. They will perform Mozart Piano Quartet No. 2 in E flat major and Fauré Piano Quartet No. 2 in G minor.
The Wellesley Chamber Players are thrilled to be a recipient of the Wellesley Cultural Council’s Grant this year. This grant will be used to bring the best chamber musicians to Wellesley and perform the highest quality of chamber music.
The Wellesley Chamber Players are a group of professional classical musicians who have won international competitions and love chamber music. This is the fourth season, and each season has four concerts. This year’s concerts are on March 10, May 12, October 21, and December 2.Suggested donations are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for students.
