On Sunday, December 2, the Wellesley Chamber Players (WCP) will perform the second concert of this 2018-2019 season.
The program includes Leonard Bernstein’s piano trio, celebrating one of the greatest composers and conductors, Frederic Chopn’s Introduction and Polonaise Brillante and Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 2 in A major.
The musicians are Jayoung Kim (piano), Dorothy Ro (violin), Jing Peng (viola) and Jonah Ellsworth (cello). Artistic director Jayoung Kim has won international acclaim for her impeccable technique and artistry in North America, Europe and Asia. She won prizes from International Chamber Music Competition, Jean Francaix International Piano Competition and Indianapolis Matinee Musicale, among others, and she received her doctoral degree in piano from Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music. She is on faculty at Dana Hall School and New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School.
Dorothy Ro is a violinist of the Verona Quartet, and a winner of the Concert Artist Guild along winning top prizes at other international competitions.
Jing Peng, violist, is one of the most sought-after chamber musicians and attended Marlboro and Yellowbarn.
Boston native Jonah Ellsworth, cellist, has been hailed as one of the greatest cellists of his generation for his solo performances with the Boston Symphony, Akron Symphony, and Boston Philharmonic, among others.
The concert is at 3 p.m. at Beveridge Hall of Dana Hall School. The WCP accepts suggested donations: $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for students.
