Walpole Chamber Accepting Scholarship Applications

The Walpole Chamber of Commerce has opened applications for a number of the chamber’s scholarships.

The scholarships up for applications include the the Willis D. McLean Memorial Scholarship ($2,000), the Alan D. Rockwood Memorial Scholarship ($2,000) and the Walpole Chamber of Commerce Meritorious Award ($1,000).

Applications were opened on December 15. Application packets can be obtained at Walpole High, Tire Specialists at 1034 East Street in Walpole, the Walpole Superintendent of Schools office at Walpole Town Hall, and at Ryan Faenza Cataldo, Attorneys at Law, at 825 Main Street in Walpole.

The purpose of the Willis D. McLean Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to an individual who exemplifies the spirit of the Willis D McLean in the following areas: citizenship, responsibility, work ethic, and community sprit.

The purpose of the Alan D. Rockwood Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a deserving undergraduate student pursuing further education. The individual must have a strong record of community service in the Town of Walpole.

The purpose of the Walpole Chamber of Commerce Meritorious Award is to provide financial assistance to a deserving undergraduate student pursing further education.

Any student who has, by May 2016, successfully completed one year of an associates degree program or two years of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university and will continue that program for the next school year and has been a resident of Walpole for the past two years may be eligible.

The deadline for submitting completed applications to Ryan Faenza Cataldo, Attorneys At Law, 825 Main Street, Walpole, MA 02081 is no later than Tuesday, March 1 at 5 p.m.
