When the “Peanuts” gang arrives at the Footlighters Playhouse at 2 Scout Rd., Walpole’s Luke Witherell will be portraying Snoopy.

“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” will open May 6 and run through the 22.

Luke is appearing in his first show with Footlighters, but has appeared here numerous times previously with Walpole Children’s Theatre and Walpole High School Players. He went on to Fordham University where he was active in theatre, appearing as Mark in “Rent” and Lancelot in “Spamalot”, among other productions.

A delightful musical based on the beloved comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles Schulz, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” follows the small but significant moments that make up the days of Charlie Brown and his friends Lucy, Schroeder and Linus, his sister Sally, and his incomparable dog Snoopy.

Be it first love, who’s your valentine, the big baseball game, flying a kite, we watch as a small group of children, portrayed by adult actors, cope with the challenges and joys of childhood, where true friendship first blossoms. This revised version of the show includes all the original songs and two new songs that are sure to leave you smiling.

A cast of experienced actors from the greater Boston area make this musical comedy a delightful evening at the theatre.
