As winter begins to loosen its quiet hold and the first signs of spring emerge, the public is warmly invited to a contemplative evening of music and reflection at EvenSong: Celtic Spring, on Sunday, March 8 at 6:30 pm at United Church Walpole, 30 Common Street.
This candlelit service will celebrate the turning of the season through the lens of Celtic spirituality, a tradition that finds God present in the rhythms of nature, the greening earth, and the returning light. The evening will weave together scripture, poetry, silence, and sacred music in a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.
Featured musicians include Celtic duo harpist Shelley Otis and flutist Patty Simon, whose music evokes the beauty and spirit of the Irish countryside. They will be joined by UCW Music Director and Irish native Eithne Stover, performing on cello and guitar. Together, the trio will offer reflective instrumental pieces and Celtic-inspired hymns that capture both the tenderness and joy of spring’s arrival.
EvenSong is designed as a time of rest and renewal — a gentle pause at the close of the week. Whether one comes seeking quiet, inspiration, or simply beautiful music, all are welcome.
There is no admission fee, and the evening is open to the entire community.
