October finale at Adams Farm

Despite the on and off rain, along with the chilly wind, crowds gathered at Adams Farm to delight in some amazing music for the afternoon. Earlier this month, the Friends of the Adams Farm, in collaboration with Walpole Co-Operative Bank, hosted their final concert of the season for all to come and enjoy.

The lineup for this musical event consisted of two bands that had previously played there before. First up was the fantastic duo, Friends of the Ledge, including Chris DeChristopher and Bo Kennedy. They played an array of easy-going hits, some in honor of the late Jimmy Buffet. In between songs, this duo could be seen interacting with the crowd, laughing with one another and cracking some jokes here and there.

To end the afternoon was the incredible trio, The Dane Street Project, consisting of Jean Robinson, Dean Bagdasarian and Peter Wieselquist. With a similar style as Friends of the Ledge, they played a number of classic hits, including some treasured rock tunes. Attendees could be seen singing along with every word, thoroughly enjoying their time spent at the farm. When The Dane Street Project weren’t performing, they were listening to Friends of the Ledge, even going as far as joining the duo for a couple of songs.

Adding to all of the excitement, a face painter was there within the crowd, ready to give you any look you desired. The Dane Street Project’s very own Jean Robinson was captured rocking her own face paint art, with some flowers on the side of her eye.

Also among the crowd was Adams Farm volunteer and member of the Friends of the Adam Farms, Yvette Morrill. Smiling from ear to ear and singing along to all the songs, Morrill could not have been more thrilled to be there. When discussing this concert series, she went on to mention, “I feel as if this concert series did really well, especially during the pandemic. Since there wasn’t really much happening, people were looking for a way to get together outside in a safe manner. Some of them had been to the farm before, some of them hadn’t, so it was really good to see everyone together. This was also the reason why we started the series, to pull people here who may not know much about the farm or that it even existed. It is amazing to see that some of those people are even coming back regularly now, riding bikes, walking their dogs, or just hiking along the trails that we have.”

This concert series lasted from August through October, with amazing turnouts each time. It is easy to see just how much Walpole residents enjoy these concerts, as well as the performers. For many of the musicians, this craft is not their full time job so being able to come out to a crowd of people and perform, is something they enjoy immensely!
