Friends of the Walpole Public Library have announced they received a $15,000 gift from Middlesex Savings Bank. The gift will allow the Friends to sponsor additional programs or make a special purchase for the library.
“The Walpole Library has been a center of community activity for Walpole ever since the new library building opened. The Library Friends have been pleased to be able to support the Walpole Public Library by sponsoring a wide range of speakers and other programs,” said President Philip Czachorowski. “We are grateful to Middlesex Savings Bank for this contribution that will enable the Friends to sponsor special programs or make a major purchase for the library that, otherwise, we would not have been able to do.”
The mission of Friends of the Walpole Public Library is to support the Walpole Library by sponsoring cultural and educational programs and by funding other programming and special needs.
“Local libraries play a major role in making our communities the special places that they are,” said Mike McAuliffe, president and CEO of Middlesex Savings Bank. “They provide important resources that residents of all ages can utilize and enjoy. We are pleased to be making this gift to help support all that they do.”
The $15,000 gift to Friends of the Walpole Public Library is part of a cumulative gift of $1.4 million that Middlesex Savings Bank distributed to 84 non-profit organizations including libraries, food pantries and senior centers within the Bank’s retail branch territory.
