Scoring goals has always been what Walpole native Conor Foley does. During the winters, Foley helped lead the boys hockey team to its first ever Super Eight berth in 2017 as a sophomore before captaining the team as a senior. During the springs, Foley led Walpole High lacrosse in scoring during both his junior and senior seasons and captained the team as a senior.
Now three years out of high school, not much has changed for Foley, who continues to fire home goals at a rapid clip for UMass Lowell men's lacrosse.
As a freshman in 2020, Foley led the team in total points (23) and finished the COVID-shortened season tied for the team-lead in goals (10).
In 2021, Foley finished tied for the team-lead in scoring (11 goals) and was second on the team in total points with 14.
Now a junior, Foley has remained the go-to guy for the Riverhawks on offense. Despite his team struggling out of the gates at 0-5, Foley has been on fire. The Walpole native has already registered a team-high 14 goals and a team-high seven assists, averaging more than two goals per game. Needless to say, Foley is well on his way to leading the Riverhawks in scoring for the third consecutive season as well as several other major offensive categories. Foley has also recorded six ground-balls and three caused turnovers during Lowell’s first five games.
