Westwood High School seniors Ashley Mackin and Abby Crowley signed their national letters of intent to play a Division I sport this past week.
Mackin, who last suited up for Westwood lacrosse in 2019 as a sophomore and was named a TVL All-Star, officially signed her NLI to attend and play lacrosse at perennial powerhouse Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Mackin helped the Wolverines to a 19-1 record and the No. 1 overall seed in Division I South in 2019. Westwood defeated reigning state champion Wellesley (10-9) in the sectional semifinals before falling to eventual state champion Notre Dame Academy in the sectional finals.
Crowley, who just completed her senior field hockey season and helped the Wolverines to an unbeaten 7-0-0 record, signed her NLI to attend and play field hockey at Bryant University. As a junior in 2019, Crowley helped Westwood to a 15-1-2 record and the TVL Large title. The Wolverines earned the No. 4 seed in the Division I South and made a run to the sectional semifinals (4-0 defeat to eventual state champ Somerset-Berkley).
