The Westwood High volleyball team fell to Medway on November 9 3-0 in the quarter finals of the Division 2 Central tournament.
The Wolverines had previously knocked Tantasqua out of the playoffs on November 5 with a 3-0 win to open the tournament.
After struggling through two losses to open the season, the team bounced back to gain its first winning streak with three back-to-back wins. The Wolverines beat Holliston on September 22 3-0. The team went on to beat Millis on September 25 with another 3-0 score. They beat out Ashland on September 30 3-2.
The team went on to lose to Medfield and Ursuline, and picked up consecutive wins and losses for the next four games after that.
Momentum quickly picked up, however, as the team went on a long five-game winning streak. The team beat Ursuline on October 19 3-0, Bellingham on October 21 3-1, Holliston on October 22 3-2, Millis on October 26 2-0 and against Ashland on October 28 3-2.
The winning streak was interrupted by a loss to Medfield on October 30, but the team secured a win to close out the regular season against Norton on November 2 3-0. The team held a 10-6 history after the Norton game.
The final game of the 2015 season was the last match for a number of graduating Westwood High seniors. Eight seniors in total will bid farewell to the team, including Hayley Barner, Meghan Farrell, Monica Hatch, Riana Laurenti, Natalie Mansson, Samantha Parlato, Francesca Rudi and Jacqueline Vancura.
