The Westwood High varsity baseball team faced off against Dover-Sherborn on May 6 at home, ultimately falling to the Raiders 6-1.
The Raiders immediately made their presence known with two runs in the first inning and three runs in the second inning. The Wolverines picked up a single run in the second, and headed into the third trailing Dover-Sherborn 5-1.
With the score remaining locked 5-1 throughout most of the game, the Raiders secured their win with a final run in the seventh, bringing the game to a 6-1 end.
During the game, Robert Thomas pitched for six innings, picking up 12 first pitch strikes and one strike out.
The loss marks a challenging point in the season, as the Wolverines fell to Medfield and Medway in the week prior to the Dover-Sherborn game, but picked up wins against Ashland, Boston Latin and Millis over the past few weeks.
