In a significant achievement for the Walpole High School gymnastics team, coached by Jessica (Doyle) Buss and Kristen (Ridge) Rudenauer, the squad showcased its progress at the recent Bay State League meet. Buss and Rudenauer, both alumni of WHS and former members of the gymnastics team during their high school years, brought their experience to the coaching role for the first time this year, drawing on their past success as Bay State Champions in 2001.
The team's performance at the meet marked a notable improvement over previous years, with the team securing a commendable 4th place finish. This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy considering the team's standings in previous seasons, having placed 6th last year and 7th the year before.
Of special mention is gymnast Emma Bianculli, who distinguished herself by qualifying for the State Championships in the All Around category. Bianculli's exceptional performance earned her the opportunity to compete in the State Championships, scheduled for the upcoming Monday, a testament to her skill and dedication.
In addition to Bianculli's success, the team achieved impressive results across various events at the Bay State League meet. Emma Bianculli was named Baystate All-Star, while Ella Jackson received Baystate Honorable Mention.
