Needham High School was represented well at the Massachusetts Indoor Track and Field Meet of Champions. Two individual athletes and two relay teams competed on February 26 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Roxbury.
Senior Kyler McNatt ran a fast race against a loaded field in the boys 2-mile to place second with a school record time of 9:18.38, breaking the 37-year-old record. Kyler will continue his season competing at the New Balance Indoor Nationals at the Armory in NYC on March 12 in the 5k against many of the best athletes in the nation.
Senior Rohi Ahn competed in the boys 55m hurdles, coming very close to his personal best, running 8.31 seconds and finishing 17th overall.
The Boys 4x200m relay team consisting of Seniors Andrew Daley, Billy Mahoney, Josh Herrera and Sophomore Danny Jordan ran a stellar race to place with a personal record time of 1:34.27, placing them 11th. They are continuing their season at the Nike Indoor Nationals on March 13 in Staten Island, NY.
The girls 4x400m relay team of Seniors Maddie Edwards and Kayleigh Milligan and Juniors Tricia Soldato and Alex Bold also ran a personal best time of 4:15.60 and placed 12th.
This meet capped off a very successful season for NHS indoor track and field athletes.
