Medfield is a town often known for its immense athletic success. However, on Wednesday, Medfield High School flexed its muscle even further as an athletic powerhouse with nine of its students signing their national letters of intent to play a Division I or II sport in college.

The crown jewel of Medfield athletics has always been lacrosse, and MHS continued its long tradition of sending its products on to the next level with two members of the class of 2018 making their decisions official on Wednesday. Defensive midfielder Thomas Schofield signed his NLI to attend Bryant University while goaltender Liam Gately officially signed to attend UMass-Lowell.

Other male athletes to sign on Wednesday include Chris Schworer, who will play baseball at Saint Anselm, and Connor Haskell, who will play soccer at Xavier.

Other female athletes to sign their NLI’s on Wednesday include Taylor Sherman, who will play soccer at Loyola Marymount, Morgen Hall, who will swim at Colgate, Kate Slowe, who will play field hockey down the street at Bentley, and Isabella Dudley, who will row crew at Clemson.
