After a COVID-related hiatus, the speedskating season recently resumed, and Medfield native Julie Letai has qualified for the Short Track World Championships coming up this weekend in the Netherlands from March 5-7. She will be one of four ladies representing the USA in the relay race on Saturday and Sunday. Races will be aired on NBCSN and Peacock TV (8-9:30 p.m. on March 6; 12-1:30 a.m. and 8-9:30 p.m. on March 7). An alumna of Medfield High School and the Baystate Speedskating Club, Letai helped Team USA win a bronze medal in the 2019-2020 Word Cup Relay. She trains full-time in Salt Lake City, Utah under the direction of National Head Coach Wilma Boomstra.
