Medfield senior track star Ryan Eng has quietly put together an absolutely stellar season over the last several months, earning himself the TVL MVP. He is bound for Globe and Herald All-Scholastic honors, as well.
At the TVL championships, Eng finished first in both the 55-meter hurdles and the 55-meter dash. At the divisional meet the following weekend, Eng finished second in the 55-meter hurdles at 7:55, breaking a previous meet record held since 2009. Eng continued his dominance in the 55-meter hurdles at states, placing fourth with a time of 7:58.
At the All-New England meet, Eng continued to shine by placing third in the region with a time of 7:59. In the preliminaries, Eng set a personal record of 7:48. He will head to nationals this upcoming week in New York.
No matter how Eng places at nationals next week, the Boston University-bound star will depart Medfield with six school records under his belt, including the 55-meter hurdle, relay, dash relay, and 4x200. Eng will also run outdoor track for Medfield High this spring.
