The Medfield High girls’ hockey team came from behind to tie Westwood 2-2 on Saturday night and stay unbeaten in the SEMGHL West division. Freshman forward Maya Mangiafico scored in the third period to earn Medfield a tie after the Wolverines scored twice in the second to cancel out Sarah Graham’s first period opener.
On Saturday, Medfield battled back despite being on the penalty kill eight times, including twice down two skaters.
In the previous game on Wednesday, Medfield won its 10th game of the season and booked its place in the state tournament. The Warriors beat Franklin 6-0 led by Mangiafico, who recorded her second hat trick in as many games.
Medfield, which reached the Div. 2 semifinal last year, also got another shutout from freshman goalie Sophia Merageas against the Panthers.
On Tuesday night, the Warriors beat Mansfield-Oliver Ames 6-3 and in the process clinched the SEMGHL West title.
