The Medfield High girls’ hockey team had not won a playoff game in program history before making a run to the Div. 2 semifinal last season. This year, it looks like the Warriors are making another run to try and reach the final at the TD Garden.
Medfield added to its tournament victory list with a pair of wins last week. The No. 5 seed Warriors beat Central Catholic 5-1 in the opener and then beat Archbishop Williams 4-2 on Saturday before a packed house at Pirelli Veterans Memorial Rink.
The Warriors scored all four goals in the third period to erase a 2-0 Archies lead. The first was scored by freshman Maya Mangiafico and the next three were scored by sophomore Rebecca Brown, including two in the final 1:20 to pull out the victory.
Medfield will get a few days off before playing the Div. 2 quarterfinal against No. 4 seed Matignon on Saturday at Gallo Arena in Bourne at 4 p.m.
