The Medfield girls varsity ice hockey Warriors took on the Hopkinton Hillers on Monday,
February 6. The match-up resulted in a 1-1 tie in overtime.

The Hillers struck first against the Warriors in the first period, notching a goal on the scoreboard
and leading Hopkinton 1-0. The Warriors fought hard in the second period, building a wall of
defense and not letting the Hillers' offense strike again. The second period was quiet, with no
goals acquired from both teams.

Medfield Warriors senior captain Kiki Mathews flung the puck into the Hillers’ net to make a
thrilling comeback for the Warriors at 13:57 left in the third. For the rest of the period, both
teams battled for one more goal, though they reached the final buzzer and they awaited
overtime.

As overtime closed out, no teams were able to notch another goal. The competition ended in a
tie. The Warriors now have a 7-4-4 record this season.

Medfield recently celebrated its seven seniors, Emily Hollander, Emily Fisch, Alex Blake, Cassie
McDonald, Kiki Mathews, Gabby Curl, and Casey Donovan. They won their Senior Night
contest against Westwood with a 4-2 final score.
