The Walpole High School (WHS) Varsity Volleyball team has embarked on a spectacular start to the season, clinching four consecutive victories that have ignited excitement among both fans and players, raising hopes for an exceptional season.

The team's successful campaign commenced with an impressive triumph against the Norwood Mustangs in a hard-fought five-set match. Subsequently, they dominated with commanding three-set wins over both Braintree and Foxboro. The remarkable streak culminated in another thrilling five-set victory, this time against Milton, on their home court.

Head Coach Zack Okolowitcz, affectionately known as "Coach O," remarks, “This years team is really working together, both on and off the court.  The work they have put in leading up to the season, is evident in their ability to work as a unit.  The girls are having a great time, while working hard; and we are looking forward to the challenges and potential for the rest of this season”. This renewed commitment to excellence is evident in their stellar performance in the first four games.

After experiencing a shortage of coaching staff last year, the Timberwolves find themselves in a more fortunate position this season with a complete coaching lineup. In addition to the experienced Coach O, the team has welcomed Coach Julie Rooney, who will exclusively focus on mentoring the freshman players. Coach Rooney joins the ranks of Coach Kelley Ryan, who oversees the Junior Varsity squad, and Coach Jennifer Hugueley, our Assistant Coach.

The team's supporters are elated by the promising start and the renewed enthusiasm surrounding this year's team. Excitement is not limited to the players alone; it extends throughout the broader community. The team is appreciative that local businesses have even commenced donating to the team, underscoring the growing belief in their potential.

With their unwavering determination and early-season successes, the WHS Volleyball team is undeniably poised for a remarkable season. As they strive to secure a spot in the playoffs and victory in upcoming matches, the community will rally behind them every step of the way. There is no doubt that they will continue to impress as the season unfolds.
