On February 3rd, the boys’ basketball team earned a big win against the Medfield Big Blue. Entering the game, the Raiders had a regular season record of 7–7 while Medfield boasted a 13–1, and they had also beaten the Raiders 58–46 at the beginning of the season.

However, by the time the first half came to an end, the Raiders were breathing down Medfield’s neck with a score of 34–35. Giulian Mariano made two three-pointers, and Sam Weitzman and Stephen Saber both made good layups, Weitzman blowing by the defense and Saber catching the ball before putting it up on his. Nash Johnson made a pass to Joel Sterling, who passed it back to him for a bucket. Mariano had a big play when he intercepted a pass and drove to the hoop for a layup. Weitzman made a rebound and took the ball from a Medfield player, and not long after the quarter ended with the Raiders now up 54–47.
In the fourth quarter, Dover-Sherborn steadily moved farther ahead. Stephen Saber made a three-pointer and later Oliver Van Rhijn had an excellent block against an attempted Medfield three-pointer. The Raiders scored another three-pointer, Stephen Saber managed to keep the ball inbounds on another play, and in the final 30 seconds of the game, Grant Debin made one last shot, and cemented the final score: 78–54.

The Raiders will be at Millis High School (6–12) this evening at 6:30 after beating them 65–60 in mid-January. Then they will play their final game at home on Monday, February 16th at 5:00 against Wayland High (5–11) for their only matchup of the season. The Raiders are on the bubble for qualifying for the playoffs, so these next two games will be critical. Their full schedule can be found online at www.arbiterlive.com.
