David M. Daniels 

63, of Medway since 1994, died suddenly on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Juda) Daniels for the past 43 years.

Born in Newark, New Jersey on March 14, 1959, he was the son of the late Edward C. and B. Anita (Osborne) Daniels. Dave grew up in Medfield, attended Medfield public schools, graduated from Medfield High School with the class of 1977 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth

Dave and Nancy married in one of the last marriages performed at the old Saint Edwards Church in Medfield and lived in Connecticut, Kansas and Ohio while Dave was working as a 

Merchandise Controller and Assistant Vice President of Merchandising for Ames and Alco 

Corporations. They moved back to Massachusetts in 1994 to raise their young family when Dave went into business with his brother Chuck as co-owner of Daniels Brothers Painting in the Franklin and Medway area for many years until his retirement.   

Dave enjoyed both playing and coaching basketball for most of his life.  He was captain of both his high school and college teams and coached at King Philip Regional High school and for the Medway Amateur Basketball Association.

Dave was an avid worker and a member of C.R.D. His greatest joy was taking care of his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Alaine Small of Reading, Greg Daniels and his wife Coree of Medway, Lori Plant and her husband Dave of Leominster and Chris Daniels and his wife Nicole of Northborough and six grandchildren, Cameron, Jacinda, Jillian, Cassie, Thomas and Marilyn.

He is also survived by his siblings, Ed Daniels of Eastham, Kathy Mueller of Egg Harbor, NJ, Chuck Daniels of Eastham, Doug Daniels of Moultonborough, NH, Tom Daniels of Wakefield, NH, Diane Weidman of Eastham and Barbara Baker of Corning, NY.,  his sister’s and brother’s -in-law and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Calling hours for relatives and friends was held  on  Sunday, March 5 from Noon – 2 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com), followed by a Celebration of Life  from 2 – 6 p.m. at the Franklin Elks Club .
