Needham Youth Services has made March its 15th annual “Needham Unplugged” month and Thursday, March 10 will be the annual no homework, no activities, no meetings night for the Town of Needham and the Needham schools.
“Needham Unplugged” is an annual effort on the part of Youth Services to encourage residents to “unplug” from electronic devises like cell phones and computers and to enjoy interaction with people - to “plug in” to each other.
As a press release from Youth Services noted, “It is a reminder that there is more to life than what is on the other side of a plug.”
There is a calendar of suggested activities that Youth Services provides each year to helps families with ideas during the month. The hope is that the suggestions will spark other ideas and that residents will creatively make the effort to reconnect with each other.
The full calendar can be found at www.needhamma.gov/DocumentCenter/View/11554. For more information about the program, visit www.needhamma.gov/youth/unplugged.
