The Needham Exchange Club is 70 years old this year. The club’s 100 women and men are proud of the 70 years of service they have provided to Needham. As most Needhamites know, the Exchange Club raises all of the money and provides all of the events for Needham’s 4th of July including the fireworks, parade, and field events. Town government helps in many ways, but the Club carries virtually all of the costs.
Over the years the club has made many improvements to the Town, including construction of the gazebo, the tot lots at DeFazio and Claxton Fields, repair of park benches throughout the town, and clean up of school playgrounds and green space as well as work on the trails in the Town Forest, to name just a few.
For the past 55 years the Club has also published and delivered the Needham Phone Book for delivery to every home and business in town.
