During Needham Open Studios on the weekend of May 5 and 6, painters Eddie Bruckner and Bala Muthukaruppan will show and sell their work at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage on 1 Chapel Street.
“Exhibiting at local businesses that open their doors to artists emphasizes the great town that Needham is,” says Bruckner, whose bold and vibrant abstract paintings have won multiple awards. “This event makes the town of Needham and our community very special." Bruckner will be doing abstract art demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday, offering children an opportunity to make and take home their very own abstract art masterpiece.
"I enjoy participating in Needham Open Studios because it gives me the opportunity to meet other talented local artists and art enthusiasts!" says Bala Muthukaruppan, whose work includes both traditional Indian folk art and contemporary work.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Needham Open Studios will showcase nationally recognized artists, as well as accomplished and emerging artists working in an array of media and styles, from painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography to ceramics, jewelry, mosaics, textiles, and film. Visitors to this free event can meet artists, tour studios, and browse and purchase original artwork at fifteen locations throughout the town.
