"When We Are Silent", a new solo exhibition by artist Ruth K. Henry, is on display March 7-26 at Gorse Mill Studios, 31 Thorpe Road, Needham. A gallery opening reception will be held this Saturday, March 12, from 6-9 p.m.; all visitors are welcomed, and there is plenty of free parking available.
Ruth Henry is a mixed media artist who layers colors, texture and lyrics into intricate reflections on community, conflict, and possibility. Her belief in art’s power to unite people across painful divides is born of lived experiences as a socially engaged artist both locally and globally. She received her BA from Hampshire College, continued her studies through a Fulbright grant to Colombia, and received her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She currently works as a teaching artist in residence.
Masks are required for all visitors, and food and drink will be available outdoors at the reception. For further information on Gorse Mill Studios, including gallery hours, visit www.gorsemillstudios.com.
