Zullo talk is Bergonzi double feature

The next talk in the virtual Zullo Gallery “Meet the Artist” series is at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, via Zoom, featuring internationally renowned jazz saxophonist and composer Jerry Bergonzi, and acclaimed jazz pianist/vocalist Geraldine “Jeri” DiMarco Bergonzi.

The Bergonzi husband-wife team has always had music as a shared passion and professional interest, yet they've followed their own unique career paths providing personal fulfillment.

For tenor saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi, he has gained international prominence as a jazz performer, composer, recording artist, conservatory/music school educator and author. He is a three-time National Endowment for the Arts grant recipient and teaches at New England Conservatory.

For jazz pianist and vocalist Jeri DiMarco Bergonzi, she has cultivated her musical career locally and abroad as a highly regarded performing artist and educator. She has brought her 35 years of teaching experience with piano, harmony, improvisation and vocal coaching to the Rivers School Conservatory.

Both Jerry and Jeri teach privately, and they know all too well the struggles facing aspiring jazz musicians. They're especially passionate about supporting music education taking time to mentor students of all ages.
