Vine Lake Preservation Trust’s next walking tour will focus on the last 10,000 years of cemetery archeology. This tour happens on Saturday, October 7, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Admission is free.
Discover how the cemetery topography was formed. Find out how the Native Americans used this land. Recognize why selected gravestones are becoming just stumps. Fathom how atmospheric conditions will have lasting effects. See climate change in action.
The tour leaders will be John Thompson, Medfield's resident archeologist, and Rob Gregg, Vine Lake Preservation Trust's president.
Attendees may enter the cemetery at 625 Main Street (the lower entrance), park on the road around the lake, and climb the steps to the Old Section. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.
