The Warriors won the first set 25–5, but made a few errors in the second set, allowing the Mohawks to briefly take a 3–0 lead. They stayed ahead until Medfield overtook them at 13–12 and finished the second set with a score of 25–15.
The mood in the gym was jovial, even during the second set. Medfield players on the bench could be seen acting out “bowling” one girl into the others—the “pins”—and pretending one of them was bench-pressing another while the rest stood on either side and lifted her up and down. Despite their morale-raising activities on the sidelines, the Warriors remained focused while on the court.
The third set had the closest score, the Warriors beating out the Mohawks 25–18. The few things that had put Medfield behind during the beginning of the second set were unfortunately struggles for Millis throughout the game as a whole—of those, mainly miscommunications when two players went for the same ball. They also seemed to generally be less strong of a team than the Warriors, at times having trouble with their passes after receiving a difficult attack from Medfield. Again, however, they are still a young team.
