Two award-winning Dwight-Derby House artists, Brenda O’Conner and Diane Connolly, will exhibit their art at the gallery at Medfield TV in September. Their reception will be Friday, September 13, from 6-8 p.m., and their art can be viewed Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., along with many other pieces by the Dwight-Derby House artists.
It’s fitting these two artists will show together, as they serve on the Norwood Art Association (NAA) board as co-hospitality chairman, they show their art at NAA’s Fine Artists Gallery and Studio, participate in many of the same shows, take Jonathan Fairbanks art classes and were inspired to paint at a very young age.
Diane was the first to become a member of the NASS in 1997 and Brenda in 2010. They joined the Dedham Art Association last year.
Their style is mostly traditional, comprised of landscapes, portraits and still lifes; they have tried their hand at most media. Today, Brenda works mainly in oil and Diane in acrylics. They have a deep passion for art.
There’re also philanthropic minded. Diane volunteered her time, talents and expertise to the residents of the Ellis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Brenda, meanwhile, has donated many pieces of her art to be raffled, with proceeds to help stop violence against woman.
