The Hannah Adams Woman's Club (HAWC) is inviting the community to the Zullo Gallery in Medfield to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the first and longest-running women's club in America. The celebration will be held on March 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Attendees will enjoy refreshments and a glass of wine while receiving a mini-manicure and visiting with friends - all free of charge. Participants will also receive free raffle tickets for pre-registering, becoming a member, and/or making a donation to The Hannah Adams Scholarship Fund. Themed raffle baskets include "A Day at the Spa," "Around Medfield," "Patriot Place" and "Wine Basket" (individuals must be present to win).
Hannah Adams (1755-1831) was born and raised in Medfield and was the first woman in the U.S. to make a living as a professional author. In later years, she gathered a circle of friends who shared her interests and enthusiasms, it was this group that later inspired the club that was officially established in 1894 in honor of her. Today, The Hannah Adams Woman's Club offers friendship and events to Medfield area women, and fundraises for local causes including the Medfield Home Committee and the Hannah Adams Scholarship Fund. HAWC has also hosted the annual Medfield Senior High School Girls Graduation Tea for nearly 50 years.
This event is free, but registration is required. Email [email protected] to reserve a spot (and earn one free raffle ticket).
