Open to adults of all ages, the Center at Medfield is offering a five-week “Arts Reaction” program beginning Saturday, October 20.
Those who attend “You Don’t Have to be a Connoisseur to Enjoy the Arts” will be introduced to the works of famous painters, composers, writers, sculptors, and photographers.
According to Jerry Cianciolo, an editor and writer who originated the program, “This is all about reacting honestly to the art placed before you, whether it’s a painting, a photograph, a piece of sculpture, a sonata, or even a short poem.” The overall aim, he says, “is to demystify art, to make it enjoyable to everyone, and to spark a lively and fun discussion.” By the end of the program, Cianciolo says the most common response of participants is “I never knew I could like art so much!”
You Don’t Have to be a Connoisseur to Enjoy the Arts runs on Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on October 20, 27, November 3, 10, and 17. Registration is limited to 15 people and the fee for the program is $15.
