The rank of Eagle is the highest award in Scouting. To attain this rank, Scouts are required to earn at least 21 different merit badges, hold multiple leadership positions in their Troop and organize an Eagle Service Project.

Working with the Dover Sherborn High School, Charlie Simek completed his Eagle Project by organizing and leading a team of Troop 1 Scouts that built a wooden structure within the school lobby to hold student’s gear. Charlie is a freshman at Purdue University, studying aerospace engineering.

Charlie began his path to Eagle as Cub Scout in elementary school. His favorite Scouting memories include a two-week High Adventure wilderness hike at the Philmont Reservation in New Mexico, backpacking in the White Mountains, biking in Nantucket, skiing in New Hampshire and camping at Lovells Island.
