Sue Kelliher, the director of the Sherborn Council on Aging, recently welcomed seniors to the Sherborn Town Hall on Friday, January 6, to meet and greet the community's new town administrator, Jeremy Marsette.
The event was held in the Select Board Meeting room, where locals convened over coffee and donuts prior to connecting with Marsette. The newly-minted town administrator was eager to meet Sherborn residents and local business owners.
After Kelliher greeted the attendees, she welcomed Senator Rebecca Rausch to speak to the guests. Senator Rausch thanked the seniors for attending, while extending her thanks for their partnership, collaboration, and insights about the town. Senator Rausch then made a formal welcome to Marsette, with whom she will be working as he serves as the town administrator.
Town Administrator Marsette expressed that it was “a true honor and privilege to work for Sherborn,” as he has nothing but good expectations moving forward as he works to service the town. Though Marsette is a Medfield resident, he said that he feels very much at home in his neighboring town.
Marsette was an active volunteer in Medfield for many years, which is what led to his interest in local government. He expressed his gratitude in landing this new position and his excitement in diving right in on working to continue to improve life for Sherborn residents.
After this speech, he opened questions to the floor and discussed his priorities in the town. He looked to the townspeople to provide their insights on what needed to be prioritized.
Upon being asked what his vision is for Sherborn, he replied: “The vision is up to you folks. I am here to find out what that vision is and help you implement it.” Marsette went on to say that the townspeople are the experts, and he wants their guidance so he may become a follow expert.
Town Administrator Marsette plans to work closely with Select Board members to create some visions and values that are align with the desires of the citizens of Sherborn.
