The Dover Town Library is hosting its second annual Book Bowl. Middle school students from Dover, Sherborn, and other surrounding towns are invited to participate in a reading competition.
The event will be hosted virtually this year, with teams of students from ages 10 to 14 competing against one another. Teams will be asked questions about 15 pre-selected book titles that participants will have to read prior to the competition. All books will be available at the DTL for curbside pickup. The competition will start at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, March 31. Books referenced in this year's competition include Raymie Nightingale, The One and Only Ivan, The Shadow Cipher, and Graceling, among other titles.
In order to participate teams must include 3-5 members, have a team name, and a team captain. The team captain is in charge of emailing DTL Librarian Angie Howes at [email protected] to register for their group. The deadline to register is February 1. After teams are registered, it is up to their members to ensure they have read the books by March 31.
The winners of the competition will receive a prize that will be revealed at the competition. It will be available for curbside pickup at a later date. A complete list of books for the competition and more information can be found here. Those who are interested or want more information can email Angie Howes at [email protected].
