Parents and guardians of children ages 11-21 and members of the community are invited to Jon Mattleman, speaking on "The Secret Life of Teens." The program, which is presented by the DS Challenge Success Speaker Series and SPAN-DS, will be held at the Mudge Auditorium at Dover-Sherborn High School on Tuesday, March 27, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
"The Secret Lives of Teens" is a high-energy presentation that actively focuses on what teens are really thinking, what they fear, why they do not share more, and how adults can effectively support the teens in their lives.
This presentation will include techniques to help families maintain balance at home and manage stress. Topics such as "acting out," drug and alcohol use, depression and suicide will be discussed, among others.
Participants will leave the workshop armed with strategies they can implement immediately, innovative techniques and suggested language for engaging teens, and opportunities to promote confidence, courage and resiliency.
