The Dover Library Holiday House Tour will be held on Sunday, November 24, from 11:30 - 3:30 p.m. This marks the 31st year of this popular event, which is held to benefit the library's many programs and services.
A beautiful Farm Street Colonial is one of four houses featured on Tour this Sunday. The house was built in 2006 and was purchased by the current owners three years ago. It is home to a family of four with two young boys and two English bulldogs named "Mac" and "Cheese." The main floor rooms are grand and elegant - with handsome wood work, bold use of blue and white/cream tones, and a mix of contemporary and traditional furnishings and art.
Unusual spaces include an orchid room and a shower for the dogs in the bathroom off the mud room. There is also a wonderful pool area with its fabulous "she shed" - a haven filled with colorful pillows and throws, books, lanterns, and framed drawings and watercolors created by the children.
The homeowner has personally decorated her home for Christmas with dramatic wrappings of staircases, delightful table-top displays and Christmas trees of difference sizes in every room. Indeed, the house is a showcase of her new business venture, "Chanell Rose", where she helps homeowners with the "finishing" of interiors - adding the careful accessories and accents which turn "spaces" into "a home".
In the kitchen, guests will sample special seasonal fare.
This marks the 31st year of this popular event. It will be held rain or shine. Advance tickets are available at the library for $40. If any are available, tickets will be $45 on the day of the event, and will be available for sale at the Holiday Marketplace at the American Legion adjacent to the Library.
